"Educator"
Mary Esteban Taitano
Class of 1986
"I am truly grateful that I have instilled the importance of Family, Love and Humility in the different jobs I have held and continue to hold, because of my upbringing and education. Notre Dame High School is one choice I thank God I made. My daughters Maria Taitano (class of 2009) and Josephine Taitano (class of 2012) also attended Notre Dame. The Class of 86 will always be my Family. While attending Notre Dame, I learned that prayer, being humble, respecting others, and giving of oneself was our mission in life and this was what we were being groomed to be or do. As an educator, I teach my students the same. As an Officer in the military, I also try to lead by example. As a former Beauty Queen, I also try to be a role model for young girls too. I am currently an educator with the Guam Department of Education. This is my 26th year teaching. I enjoy teaching and molding young students to love learning new things. I am also an officer in the Army Reserves and have been serving for 15 years. I was an ambassador of Guam in 1990 as Miss Guam World. I am married to Teddy Taitano and together we have three daughters and three grandchildren."
